How to Connect Your Metamask Wallet to the Binance Smart Chain
Learn how to connect your Metamask wallet to the Binance smart chain so that you can store a range of Bet 20 tokens within Metamask in this video.
Once we've linked Metamask and Binance Smart Chain, we can use all of the services on Binance Smart Chain, such as bakery swap, pancake swap, venus, and everything else, with ease. You may use the video timestamps in the description to follow this method quickly, and if you don't have Metamask, I'll link that video in the description.
Let's get started with adding Binance Smartchain to Metamask. You can use Binance Smartchain to interact with a variety of decentralised applications built on the smart chain. A great website to visit and reference is academy.binance.com, and then there's this article about connecting Metamask to the Binance Smart Chain, which I'll link in the description.
So, if you have any troubles, you can read this, and if you need any more help with the setup, we'll go over everything now. First, you'll want to go to metamask.io.
Now, I'm assuming you already have Metamask set up. If you don't, and you're completely new to Metamask, I've also got a video on how to set it up from scratch, which I'll link in the description.
But what we want to do is open up our metamask, so assuming you already have it, go through the extensions.
Simply go to metamask and then open the small window from there.
You may now go to the three dots on the right hand side of the screen and select enlarged view, which will make it much easier for you to do this.
So that's the big picture, and then we're going to go ahead and set up the finance smart chain. Before we get started, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you do not need to create a new Metamask wallet to configure Binance Smart Chain.
You can go ahead and do that if you want; you can establish new accounts and wallets. You can even go through and create a completely new account within your wallet, so instead of having a separate wallet, you can differentiate one of your wallets. Perhaps an ethereum wallet from a Binance smart chain wallet.
You can then give that wallet a name, and it will be generated for you in less than a second, after which you can join it to the Binance smart chain. It's not absolutely necessary, and you can add finance smart chain functionality to the same wallet that you have some ethereum tokens in, so I'll just click on Ashish wallet right here, and as you can see, I've got a couple of erc20 tokens in the ethereum wallet right now. Another important thing to know is that you might want to use metamask as a proxy for a hardware wallet, so instead of using a hardware wallet, you could use metamask
Many individuals keep their coins in hardware wallets like trezor and then use metamask as a proxy to engage with dapps on the Binance smart chain.
Whether you don't have a hardware wallet yet, I'll link tresor in the description. You may look through and check if the tokens you want to hold are supported on those hardware wallets. Let's add finance smart chain now, so click this button in the top right hand corner and then select settings.
Then we'll go to networks on the left hand side, click on networks, and then we'll add the information. Once you're in networks, you can see all of the networks that are supported inside your current metamask wallet right here, so ethereum mainnet is the main one. We'll go to add network, and now you can see this changes and now we can edit some network names and other parameters.
You can see that the article gives you all the information you need, so first it says that the network name should be smart chain, which it doesn't have to be but I'm just going to put it in for the sake of being correct, so you can put smart chain in here, then you need the new rpc url, which you can see here, so we can just copy and paste this in just to make sure we don't make any mistakes.
As you can see, they prefer bnb, so when you acquire assets in your account, they'll be valued like this, so I'll put bmv like that, and then the block explorer, which is optional, but I'll put it in just to be sure we get everything done correctly.
That's all there is to it. Just copy and paste it in here, and then click save. You'll see on the left hand side that smart chain has been added as an option into the current supported networks in your meta mask. That's it, so I'll just click on the logo to return to the main page, and you'll see right away that Ashish wallet has altered in a couple of ways.
First and foremost, instead of having ethereum right here or eth as the asset that we get values in, it's now changed to bnb, and the other obvious difference is that the ethereum icon has now vanished and we now have the Binance smart chain icon, so we can be pretty sure that we did the right thing and that there were no mistakes in what we copied and pasted over since the metamask is telling us that it's fine. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have ethereum-based tokens in your meta mask, you will not see them here. As you can see, I had both ethereum and rv tokens, which are now completely gone.
So if we go up to the networks and then back to the ethereum mainnet, we'll see that we switch back, we get the ethereum icon, and then we can see them added here, and then we switch back to the smart chain down here, and it will switch for us now we can try and send some binance coin into our metamask wallet to make sure 100 that everything works.
Then you may click this right here to have it copied to your clipboard automatically. If you're using the same wallet as your ethereum, this should be the same wallet address, but it now supports binance coin, so duplicate it. return to Binance's withdrawal page Make sure bmb is selected here, and then go to the recipient's bnb address.
and you want that there so that is now copied you can add it to a white list if you want so you don't have to remember it next time then the transfer network is really important we don't want to use this one which is a bnb and binance chain it sounds very similar to binance smart chain but it is not the same you can see bep two tokens we cannot use that blockchain we need to use this one binance s When we select that option, a safety warning will appear.
So, first and foremost, have you checked that the platform enables smart financial chains? Yes, I've confirmed it also confirms that if you don't set up finance smart chain right, you'll lose your coins, so it's critical that we set it up correctly because if we don't, we'll lose this transaction.
If the destination platform does not support bsc, your assets will most likely be lost. That is the correct response so we can continue. Are you familiar with Binance Smart Chain? Yes, the Binance smart chain permits deposits and withdrawals of bet 20 tokens, so we can hit submit, and you'll see that I passed those questions, so I'm going to go ahead and send. You'll see the transaction cost and what the receiver will get on page 05 of a bnb, and then you'll have to confirm the transaction using your email address and two-factor verification.
If you have it, you can see that the withdrawal request has been submitted, so you can go to your metamask wallet and see that it has landed in my metamask wallet, so now we have that transaction minus the fees showing up as bnb currency in our metamask wallet.
Then we can go back to the ethereum mainnet and see that you don't have any of those assets in your ethereum mainnet account, so we can go back to smartchain and see that there are those bmb coins for you. What you can do very quickly then is go to a service like pancake swap, which is a Binance smart chain dex and swap protocol.
You can simply connect your wallet by going up here. Simply click on your meta mask to bring it up, then click next to link it, then connect at the bottom to link your meta mask. From there, you can access all of the liquidity pools and other trading facilities on pancake swap venus, as well as all of the other binance smart chain ecosystem daps, which you can view all of them here.
So you have exchanges like pancake swap one inch exchange and burger swap d5 protocols as you can see down here, as well as lending protocols like venus, so there are a lot of ecosystem dapps on Binance smart chain that you can utilise right now with Metamask.
